Day 7: ADHD-Friendly Self-Care Strategies to Manage Christmas Stress

Are you feeling stressed and anxious by all of the Christmas Chaos?

Take this as your cue to check-in

  • With yourself,

  • Your energy levels and

  • How you are feeling.

Christmas time is often said to be a time for giving.

Many of us with ADHD excel at giving our all to people and things we care about.

We need to remember to take stock of how we feel.

Remember, it’s ok to take care of ourselves first.

So, today’s blog is all about self-care and taking stock of ourselves and our energy in the lead up to Christmas.

Why not grab one of your many journals (we’ve all got them), and kickstart your New Year’s resolutions early.

Don’t know where to start?

Why not start with these three prompts?

  1. How are you currently feeling?

  2. How do you want to feel?

  3. What you can do to make that happen?

Sometimes the best thing to do is to just get it all out of our heads.

ADHD-friendly self-care strategies:

  • Play music: Now’s a good time to put your self-care playlist to good use.

  • Make a tasty treat: You can use some of those premade recipes you made the other week.

  • Homemade self-care recipes: Have a relaxing bath and try some of your homemade bath bombs.

Christmas can wait. It’s important to take care of ourselves first.

No one wants the Grinch to show up on Christmas in your place, I’m sure.

Are you feeling stuck or overwhelmed by all the demands of Christmas?
