Day 6: Countdown to Christmas the ADHD Way: Cleaning Made Fun

Are you overwhelmed with everything that needs to get done before Christmas? Honestly, same!

Why not count down the days a little differently this year with a cleaning countdown?

Refer back to your Christmas card to-do list if you get stuck (or if your ADHD sends you on a side quest).

ADHD-friendly tips to reduce stress and feeling overwhelmed:

  • Body double: Tackle your most dreaded tasks by roping in a loved one to help. Spread the Christmas chaos I mean cheer!

  • Task stack. Embrace the ADHD side quests and stack tasks together.

  • Break tasks down: Keep it simple and do one task at a time, or use the Elf on the Shelf to pick where you focus your cleaning efforts.

Create a cleaning motivation playlist, or use the one you created for your self-care routine.

Don’t forget to have dance breaks and refuel your energy and focus with snack breaks.

Those Christmas cookies and hot chocolate won’t drink themselves.
