Day 4: DIY Edible Christmas Gifts: Tasty, Budget-Friendly & ADHD-Friendly Tips

This post is all about DIY Christmas presents that are edible. No not that kind of edible!

Why make edible Christmas gifts?

Because, they are:

  • Simple

  • Budget friendly

  • You know whoever you give it to will love it.

  • Plus, we get the taste test as we go. For Quality control purposes obviously.

To start:

  • Grab some clean and empty jars. You know the ones you’ve been collecting for ages.

  • Measuring cups and spoons,

  • A pen and some paper.

Then you can look up simple dry recipes. Look for cookies, drink mixes, or even spice mixes.

Look for ones that can be made with things that you already have in the pantry.

Then all you need to do is portion out the ingredients into the jars.

An important ADHD friendly tip:

  • Write down the measurements for each ingredient.

This helps you to know how many servicing you have per jar/present.

Plus, you can avoid the panic when you mix the ingredients and wonder how much of each ingredient you had before mixing them. Not that I’ve done that before myself or anything.

Be sure to leave some ingredients for yourself. It’s important to taste test the recipes after all.

With the jars ready to go, you can whip up some labels or recipe cards.

Why not use some of your art supplies you have forgotten about ready for this exact scenario.

If you’re not a fan of your handwriting you can always type them up and print them.

Extra ADHD friendly tips to get organised for Christmas:

  • Add the ingredients to your shopping list.

  • Avoid the Christmas crowds by adding the ingredients to you next click and collect order.

  • Get organised and prepare some extra portions for yourself. Later on, you’ll only need to add the missing wet ingredients and you’ll be enjoying your tasty treat in no time.
